The pace of agricultural work, with a view to next year's harvest, is now in the focus of attention at the highest level. The President checked out the results of the farming work.
A week ago, the Government was instructed to intensify work in the fields, so as to promptly complete the sowing of winter crops. This year, the unfavorable weather conditions have delayed these works: the pace of potato and corn harvesting has slowed down. Alexander Lukashenko demanded to work in the field 24/7, literally non-stop! Timely sowing and harvesting is a matter of food security, our export potential. During the pandemic it is especially relevant.
The President has set a task for the government to prevent interruptions in the supply of goods
Despite intensified efforts in the fields, the sowing of winter crops has not yet been completed. A little more than 10% of the area remains to be sown in the country. The President demanded to finish the campaign within a few days. Alexander Lukashenko set the task of preserving livestock. The General Prosecutor's Office keeps this issue under control. Also, the Head of State offered to consider the best experience of the Soviet era, when young people were tied to their land.
The President instructed the government not to allow disruptions in goods supply. The task for our agro-industrial complex is not to let the figures fall at the end of the year. It is important to compensate for the lack of grain by other segments of production. Namely, it is necessary to preserve the rate of production of dairy and meat products. The President demanded to observe discipline in everything and today it is the key to success in agriculture," stressed Alexander Lukashenko.
