Viewers from 45 countries to see show “Eurovision: Europe Shine a Light”

Belarus 1, as well as Belteleradiocompany’s official website www.tvr.by will broadcast live “Eurovision: Europe Shine a Light” project of the European Broadcasting Union on May 16. Winner of the national eliminations VAL band will represent our country. 

41 European broadcasting companies and channels of Australia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kazakhstan, Kosovo and Montenegro will also show “Eurovision: Europe Shine a Light” live. The project, designed to pay tribute to the victims of the coronavirus and those who fight it, will be able to find a response in most of the European and Australian population.

EBU made a decision to cancel the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam in connection with the difficult epidemiological situation in the world. A special show will be held instead without a competitive principle. Winners and Eurovision stars of different years, as well as singers of the failed competition will turn to the world with words of support and gratitude in a live video format, present vivid 30-second fragments of their competitive compositions and jointly perform song "Love Shine A Light".

A special feature of the program will be a joint virtual performance of song "What's Another Year" by Eurovision fans from all over the world.

2-hour TV show “Eurovision: Europe Shine a Light” will be broadcast live from a television studio in the Netherlands. Hosts Chantal Janzen, Edsilia Rombley and Ian Smith will teleconnect the participating countries.

The live broadcast on Belarus 1 and on website www.tvr.by will be conducted on May 16 at 10 pm. Evgeny Perlin will comment on the show.
