with subsequent repeats of the entire 5-hour section (i.e. 23 hours a day).
At the moment, the radio station broadcasts via short-wave and medium-wave transmitters to 20 countries of Western Europe and Northern Africa: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Italy, France, Morocco, etc.
Surveys conducted by the radio station staff, Information and Analysis Center and the Internet Department of BTRC revealed a threefold increase in the number of visits to the radio station’s site. Since the beginning of 2005, there have been 3,500 registered visits to Russian language programs, 4,000 to English and 2,000 to Belarusian ones.
Foreign listeners’ preference are live English-language programs in the Internet. Since their launch, more than 10,000 visits from 51 countries have been registered. The most frequent visits originate from USA, Canada, Poland, Great Britain, Germany, Holland, Russia, Sweden, France. There are visitors from Saudi Arabia, Japan and Australia.
Now the Radio Station Belarus like any other BTRC’s department is getting ready for a new season: develop new programming concepts, consider expansion on the air and in the Internet (www.tvr.by).
