Radio program “Remember Your Name” helps people to find each other

In the first months the program received about 2-3 letters a day, now the daily correspondence includes over 20 letters and e-mails. The program has already helped to find 70 people. In total the program got about 3000 letters from Belarus and abroad. 650 of them were red in live programs, the others wait their turn. That is why it would be quite natural to increase the air time.
Hosts Svetlana Shushakova and Oleg Vinyarsky take every story to their hearts, trying to pass the emotions and feelings of the authors to the audience. A special journalist team works with the correspondence. They try to visit the authors of the letters and record their voice messages.
“Remember Your Name” is a joint project of the First National Channel of the Belarusian Radio and “Narodnaya Gazeta”. The program makes an active use of the archives of Belarus and other countries as well ministries and public organizations. One can see the program and even take part in it via the Internet. The program “Remember Your Name” is on air every Sunday at 18:00 LT and Wednesday at 21:00 on the First National Channel of the Belarusian Radio. In September the program will be extended to 40 minutes. The stories voiced in radio programs are published in “Narodnaya Gazeta” on Fridays.
