Radio channel “Culture” will present a popular Belarusian ethno trio “Troitsa” (artistic director Ivan Kirchuk). Tatiana Pesnyakevich, correspondent of the Belarusian Radio, representing Belteleradiocompany at the festival, informed that the band will give a concert near Green Gate monument at Dlugi Targ St. at 16:00, August 5, 2005.
This year the festival, held under the auspice of Gdansk President Pavel Adamovich, is timed to the 80th anniversary of the Polish Radio.
The festival will feature radio stations of 15 members of the EBU: Belarus, Belgium, Czech Republic, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Norway, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, Switzerland, UK and the Ukraine.
The festival of the EBU began 25 years ago. Each year it is held in different countries. The festivals are aimed at presenting traditions of the European nations, supporting ethnic integrity, promotion of young ethnic performers. The best European singers and musicians of the year according to the rating of the leading European stations perform at the festival. That is why the concerts usually draw a large audience.
