Belteleradiocompany continues receiving applications for participation in the national selection round of Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016, which will take place on November, 20, in Valletta, Malta.

The National State TV and Radio Company of the Republic of Belarus is the organizer of the national selection round. Selection is held under the Provision, developed by the organizers, and the Rules of the Contest, established by the European Broadcasting Union.

The Regulation on holding the national selection round of the Song Contest Junior Eurovision-2016 is published on the web-site of Belteleradiocompany www.tvr.by (section Projects).

This year the EBU has made some changes to the rules of the International Children's Eurovision Song Contest. Accordingly, the changes are taken into account in the Regulations on the National selection round. In this connection, the Belteleradiocompany receives a large number of questions concerning the innovations. We see that the activity of our potential participants is high enough, and we expect that the final number of applications will not be less than in previous years. In 2015, 41 young artists were auditioned. In 2014, the number of participants was 41.

This year, all applicants will be admitted to the audition, whose applications meet the following requirements:

- Junior singers, who are at least 9 years old on the day of holding the international contest (November, 20) and not older than 14 years old, being citizens of the Republic of Belarus or foreign citizens and stateless persons, permanently residing in the territory of the Republic of Belarus for at least 2.5 years, can take part in the national selection.

- The song (music and (or) text), arrangement of the song can be created both by the participant and other persons (previously, the child had to be the author or co-author of the lyrics and music, now the participant needs to take part in the creation of the song) as in previous years, the rules stated that professionals in the field of music and other persons were allowed to assist the creation of text, music, song arrangement).

- A song can participate in the selection if it presents lyrics in Belarusian and / or Russian language with the use of a foreign language (but not more than 25% of the text). The lyrics and music are allowed for participation in the selection round if they have not been commercially used and performed publicly until May, 1, 2016.

- The participant of the selection round or the legal representative of the participant who has not reached the age of 14, must be the sole copyright holder of the song, or have joint ownership of the song, if a team of performers participate in the selection.

To participate in the contest it is necessary to send an application form by means of an insured box to the address of Belteleradiocompany: 9 Makayonka Str., Minsk, 220807, marked "To Junior Song Contest Eurovision-2016.

The last date of sending the parcels is June, 17, 2016.

Based on the results of the qualifying round, which will be announced not later than on July, 1, 2016, a professional jury will select seven to ten contenders for the finals, to be held no later than on September, 16, 2016 in the form of a gala concert.

The winner of the qualifying round, who will represent Belarus at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016, is determined by a vote of the jury and TV viewers.

All rights, pertaining to the holding of the selection, belong exclusively to the organizer - Belteleradiocompany.

Exclusive broadcaster of the National selection round and Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016 is the TV channel Belarus 1.

Belarus participates in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest since its inception in 2003. Olga Satsiuk was the first Belarusian participant at the music forum. Our country won twice: Ksenia Sitnik won in 2005 with her song We Are Together, and in 2007 Alexei Zhigalkovich won with the song With Friends. Last year, Ruslan Aslanov took the fourth place with the song Magic.
