Another new project of the Belarusian Radio is called “Slavonic Bazaar. The Best". It is an encyclopedia of the country’s major music forum. Besides, one can learn the news about the oncoming Slavonic Bazaar 2005, which will be held in Vitebsk next summer. Listen to the program every Friday at 17:45 (local time).
The project “Voices of Centuries” is a next chapter of radio club “Folklore”, which has been broadcasted by the Belarusian Radio for 20 years. The program tells about the masterpieces of the Belarusian music both in its authentic forms and modern interpretations. It makes use of the rich archives of the Belarusian Radio and invites modern performers, whose music is related to national Belarusian legacy. The guest of the first edition of “Voices of Centuries” was a famous Belarusian artist, musician and expert in culture Ales Los, who presented his disc “Lyrical Songs”. Besides, the project often plays the songs of the popular ethnic trio “Troitsa” and choirs from different parts of Belarus. The author and host of the project Tatiana Pesnyakevich says that the name of the program wasn’t chosen by accident. The listeners can hear “the voices of centuries, resurgent in the 21st century”. The project is headed by the director of artistic, music and entertainment broadcasting of the Belarusian Radio, composer and popular artist of Belarus Professor Valery Ivanov. Listen to the “Voices of Centuries” every Sunday at 11:30 (local time) on the First National Channel of the Belarusian Radio.
