Now it is located in fenland, in 600 kilometers from Chorukdakh. The expedition has crossed 1100 meters high uplifts named after Belarusians Chekanovsky and Chersky.
After the expedition left the Pole it got warmer a bit - minus 45C; previously the temperature was about -60C. Being at the Pole two participants - Taras Vaschenko and Valery Yakushevsky - have passed through the ceremony of arctic explorers’ devotion - put hands into the snow and said words of faith to Arctic. The ceremony is obligatory for those crossed cold border for the first time.
The travelers spend some nights at the houses of locals where were treated with traditional food.
5 days were spent in Verkhoyansk, where a press conference was held. The media representatives were interested in technical characteristics of Belarusian vehicles. The cars proved to be good in conditions of low temperatures and cross country territories.
Emergencies Minister of Sakha Republic major general Valeri Suborov displayed interest towards Belarusian equipment.
Belarusian vehicles are likely to be used in Northern regions of Russia where usual off-roaders and helicopters have difficulties in operation.
Some new details of the expedition may be received from the First National TV Channel and “LAD” channel as well as “Radius FM” radio station and First Channel of Belarusian Radio.
