New sport year at the First National TV Channel and “LAD” channel

In general exclusive broadcasts and major events await for the audience of the First National and “LAD”.
First National will broaden the range of sport on TV. Belarusians will see the most important sport events held in and outside Belarus. However, best Belarusian achievements are the priority for TV makers. Some sport events will be broadcasted for the first time in Belarus.
In February the First National and “LAD” will present Biathlon World Championships held in Germany. Right after the World Championships Belarusian biathlon amateurs will see European Championships that will be held in Belarusian Raubichi. The First National will provide broadcasting also for outside Belarus.
In February the First National will present ice hockey Challenge Cup on participation of Belarus, Poland, Slovenia and Hungary that will be held in Minsk.
In April Juniors Ice Hockey World Championship that will be held in Minsk will be on the blue screens. Teams of A Division will take part in the contest: Belarus, Czech Rep., Slovakia, Denmark, Finland, USA and Canada.
For the first time Belarusian youth football team will play in the final stage of European Championship that will be held in Germany and the First National and “LAD” will provide the opportunity to see the event.
A present for basketball amateurs has also been made. Negotiations concerning broadcasts of best NBA games at the First National are being conducted. Belarusian TV makers also negotiate on broadcasts of the Athletics Championships from Budapest.
The peak of the sport year for Sports Division of the First National will be certainly the Olympics. Belteleradiocompany owns exclusive rights for broadcasting the Olympics at the territory of the Belarus. The preliminary plan includes broadcasts of 21 kinds of sport. Director of Sports Division Boris Gersten says that the company’s administration will do their best so that the First National and “LAD” audience see the most exciting performances of Belarusian sportsmen. The preference will be given to those kinds of sport where Belarusians have most chances.
In the current year matches of UEFA Champions League, final stage of European Football Championship, Serie A games will be broadcasted by the First National and “LAD”.
