17 production hours a day break down into 7 hours in Belarusian, Russian, English, German and Polish and 10 hours of English in the real-time Internet. The German service has been expanded up to one hour a day (previously one hour a week), the English Service - up to 2 hours a day (previously 2 hours 30 minutes a week).
17 new projects have been developed for the new season. A lot of old projects have been revamped. Listeners will be able to enjoy over 100 programs. One of the most important new projects will be “The Night Hour with Belarus” in Russian. This information and education program will come out five times a week, and every night it is facilitated by one of five moderators.
Also on the new project list in 2006-2007 are Military Panorama (about Belarusian Army, military cooperation of Belarus in international organizations), Construction Site (traditions and modern developments of the Belarusian school of architecture), Private Sector (small and medium-sized enterprise development in Belarus).
News in Polish will be available three times a week.
The World Wide Web’s address of the radio station is www.radiobelarus.tvr.by. With the opening of the site, it is now easier to look for information about the radio station. The home page contains the major sections which makes the navigation effortless. Visitors have access to print news and audio transcripts, information about projects and hosts.
The plan is to post lessons in the Belarusian language for foreigners. The staff is working on a musical pop charts project where foreign listeners would vote for domestic singers via the internet. One will be able to click a link on www.radiobelarus.tvr.by to get a list of sites of domestic singers.
At the moment, the website is trilingual: Russian, Belarusian and English. The German version of the site should be launched before long.
