The First National Channel of the Belarusian Radio
On July 3 2004, the day when the nation will celebrate the 60th anniversary of liberation from German occupation, the air of the First National Channel will be filled with the ambiance of that great event.Our correspondents will be presenting a live coverage of festivities from different parts of the country.
At 9.50 AM the First National Channel will begin a live broadcast of a military parade and a march, timed to the 60th anniversary of liberation from Nazi invaders. The broadcasters will do their utmost to produce a full impression of events, which will be going on at the cross of Ierusalimskaya St. and Masherov Avenue for two hours.
All the programs of the channel on July 3 will be related to the holiday. We will invite veterans of the WWII, guards and liberators of the hero-city of Minsk, members of the Belarusian government and guests from Russia's Federation. The music air of the channel will be composed only of songs of the war time. The audience will be able listen to the report about major festivities in the capital and regional centers from 7:20 through 8:00 PM.
At 10:30 PM the project "Music Portal" will begin a series of live reports from gala-show "Plaza of Victory", organized by Belteleradiocompany. The holiday program will be crowned by a great night concert.
The channel "Culture" of the Belarusian Radio
During festivity days the channel will be presenting many live reports about celebrations of the 60th anniversary of liberation from German invaders and invite veterans, personalities of science and culture.
The music program will contain the best war melodies and "Radio Archives" will air the radio plays of the 40s.
The program "Art Picnic" and its host Ales Volsha will present an oeuvre of war composer V. Olovnikov "The Chimes of Brest Fortress" a symphonic preem "Five Novels about the War" by M. Morozova as well as her cycle for the chamber orchestra "Figures on the Heart".
"Music Radio Theater" will make a surprise fro the amateurs of opera by airing "The Alpine Ballad" composed after a novel of V. Bykov.
Radio station "Belarus"
Radio station "Belarus" prepared a number of surprises for its listeners both at home and abroad. Its programs will tell about the common struggle of the peoples of Soviet Union against German invaders, co-operation between the members of anti-Hitler coalition. The history of the WWII will be exposed by the academic secretary of the Presidential Institute of Social and Political Problems doctor of philosophy L. Krishtapovich, Belarusian writer G. Shilovich and a participant of battles for the liberation surgeon M. Pavlovets.
The materials covering the participation of the Belarusian President in Liberation Day festivities will be presented in traditional news releases "News of Fatherland", "News of the Day", "Belarus in the Mirror of Events" and "Belarus and the World".
The theme of liberation will be also reflected in German language programs "Kaleidoscope" and "Syabryna" and an English program "Belarus Today".
