A participating song has to be written in one of the national languages of Belarus. It should not be sold commercially, i.e. as a copyright item, via Internet, on any means of recording (audiocassettes, CDs, mini-disks, etc.) through a sale or other title transfer, as well as through the air.
The author of a song should take part in the performance of a song onstage as a vocalist or instrumentalist. A song is performed live onstage with musical accompaniment. One number can involve no more than 8 artists. According to international rules, young artists who participated in the selection round, but failed to advance further in the contest, can try again in the next national selection round, except for those who already performed at Eurovision.
