More than 90 applications for participation in the national qualifying round of the Eurovision Song Contest-2018 were received by Belteleradiocompany. The number of applications may change, not all applicants will be admitted to the audition.

More than 90 applications for participation in the national qualifying round of the Eurovision Song Contest-2018 were received by Belteleradiocompany. The number of applications may change, not all applicants will be admitted to the audition.

As of January 3, 95 applications have been registered. Among the participants are solo performers and music groups, not only from Belarus, but also from the near abroad countries: Russia, Ukraine, Tajikistan, Moldova.

However, the number of applications is still not final and may change, not all applicants will be admitted to the audition. Some music groups have submitted songs with folk lyrics or music, which is prohibited by the rules of Eurovision.

According to the regulation, the last day of sending parcels is December 26, 2017. The Belteleradiocompany will be waiting for several days so that all applications sent in due time were considered by the organizers for strict compliance with the regulations and international rules.

The first stage of the national selection - the audition - will begin on January 11 at 12.00 in the studio 600 Meters of Belteleradiocompany. The official website of the media holding www.tvr.by will hold online broadcast.

The audition will be held with live vocals accompanied by music and (or) a phonogram recorded with no vocals of any type or any vocal imitations. In the near future the composition of the professional jury, which will determine the finalists of the qualifying round, will be published on the website of the media holding. The names of the finalists will be known on 11 January. According to the Regulations, there will be no more than fifteen finalists.

Final selection will take place no later than on March 1, 2018 in the format of a television concert. The participant of the finals with the most points from the professional jury and the TV audience, will be declared the winner of the project and become the official representative of the Republic of Belarus at the international song contest Eurovision-2018 in Lisbon (Portugal).

The organizer of the National selection round is the country's main media holding. The selection is conducted in accordance with the Regulations developed by the organizer and the Competition Rules established by the European Broadcasting Union.
