10 finalists aged between 8 and 15 participated in the gala performance. Their songs were not to have been played earlier and commercially sold and consist of lyrics written in one of the national languages of Belarus. A live on-stage performance was to last no more than 2 minutes 45 seconds and no less than 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
Ksenia Sitnik was born on 15 May 1995 in the town of Mozyr. She owes it to her mother and sister for singing enthusiasm. At the moment, she practices singing in her hometown’s studio Yumes under the direction of her mother - Svetlana Statsenko. The young performer claims music is her life. Ksenia took part in the Shining of Stars International Festival (St. Petersburg, Russia), Spring Shooting Stars (Novaya Ruda, Poland), Land under the White Wings (Mozyr, Belarus). This summer Ksenia won the Grand Prix and TV Viewers Award at the 2nd International Junior Musical Contest “Vitebsk-2005” under the Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk 2005. She considers her mom Svetlana Statsenko to be her source of inspiration.
“My Eurovision song is about friendship and peace on the planet. I was inspired to take part in the Song for Eurovision Contest by the victory at the Slavonic Bazaar. I wish I could sing on the same stage with Petr Elfimov, Anton Zatsepin and Jennifer Lopez”.
We will know in November if Ksenia Sitnik performed at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest as successfully as Olya Satsiuk in 2003. For now, let’s just root for Ksenia and wish her luck!
