Junior Eurovision 2018 hits its own record. 20 countries coming to Belarus! Ukraine returns to the contest after deadline!

Today, the European Broadcasting Union and Junior Eurovision Supervisory Board, which includes representatives of Belteleradiocompany, approved the application of Ukraine for the most popular song contest in Europe.

Earlier, Kiev announced its refusal to participate in Junior Eurovision-2018, because of financial difficulties.

However, after the official list of 19 countries was published on July 25, the European Broadcasting Union received an application from Ukraine.

«The news is particularly cheering, firstly, because we are happy to see our southern neighbor among the contest participants. They’ve got advanced children supported by large audience, and secondly, we have won the Junior Eurovision record collecting applications from 20 countries. The preparation for the competition is in full swing, however, will have to make adjustments to some elements. We had no doubts that we will have the maximum of 18 countries, and this was the basis of the General Concept, but we will have even more. It means that we will have some more work to, though it is pleasant, pointed out Ivan Eismont, Chairman of Belteleradiocompany, General Producer of Junior Eurovision-2018.

Earlier, Albania, Armenia, Australia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, France, Macedonia, Georgia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Serbia, the Netherlands, Wales confirmed their participation in the show. By the way, Kazakhstan and Wales participate in the competition for the first time.

The International Junior Eurovision-2018 song contest will be held in Belarus in November. The organizer and coordinator of all Junior Eurovision-2018 events is the National State TV and Radio Company of the Republic of Belarus, as the only member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) in our country.
