From 1 October, the programs of international broadcasting of the Belarusian Radio will be available in Arabic. The broadcast season 2017-2018 on radio Belarus will be marked by a number of innovations and interesting projects.
Today radio Belarus broadcasts in eight languages: Belarusian, Russian, English, German, Polish, French, Spanish and Chinese. In the new season, programs of the international radio will also be available in Arabic. Weekly, a special socio-political project Meet Belarus! will be aired in Arabic.
Our country is actively developing cooperation with the Arab world in various fields - from politics and economy to social and cultural issues - and this will be reflected in the programs of the radio Belarus. Thus, the potential audience of our radio will grow by 345 million people in different countries of the world speaking Arabic and, of course, the speakers of the Arabic language will participate in preparation of the programs, - says Naum Galperovich, the chief director of the international radio Belarus.
At the present stage of the all-round strategic partnership between Belarus and China, the volume of broadcasting of the international radio in the Chinese language will significantly increase in the new season. Along with large-scale interstate projects within the Silk Road Economic Belt, numerous Belarusian-Chinese social and cultural contacts, the life of Chinese specialists and students in our country will be in the focus of attention of the radio. The creative group of the program Belarus Is Your Friend includes citizens of China - professional journalists and translators, graduates and teachers of the Institute of Journalism of BSU.
The main task of international broadcasting is the creation, maintenance and strengthening of the positive image of the Republic of Belarus in the world media space, which is especially important with the audience speaking Chinese, the most numerous one in the world, - adds Naum Galperovich.
The invariably high interest of Spanish and French-speaking listeners to programs from Belarus has prompted international radio to expand the volume of broadcasting and the range of topics covered in French and Spanish: politics, economy, culture, sports. Particular attention is paid to bilateral cooperation between Belarus and countries of Western Europe and Latin America.
At the same time, there will be an increase in the share of socio-political and socio-economic programs in all broadcasting languages in the new season.
Radio Belarus plans to further build its presence in social networks and interactive platforms Facebook and WeChat, as well as the development of its own YouTube channel.
The international radio will pay great attention in the season 2017-2018 to the feedback of its audience. On 1 September, a new interactive patriotic campaign Homeland Calls With Tenderness! was launched with participation of representatives of public organizations, embassies and consulates of the Republic of Belarus abroad. The action is targeted at the Belarusians abroad and is aimed at enhancing their ties with the historical homeland. Listeners from different countries of the world who have Belarusian roots can send online greetings to their small homeland using the email address hellobelarus@gmail.com. One can send a photo of the current place of residence, a photo from the family archive, photos with children and grandchildren, with parents and friends. Greetings in the form of a selfie or a video should be accompanied by a text message. All online greetings will be posted on the official website of the international radio Belarus. The most active and creative participants of the action will receive prizes.
