The TV crew was allowed to live in Zanussi’s house and follow him practically everywhere - even to the dentist.
“We spent all five days together with Krzysztof Zanussi filming him in various situations”, - says film director Sergey Rybakov. “We included the best footage in the film. Besides, Mr. Zanussi let us use exclusive working bits from his new picture “Persona Non Grata” whose Polish premiere we attended together with the director”.
“Get Zanussi” is a film about several days from the life of the famous director who came home for these several days. Different people always live in his huge house in the center of Warsaw. He did the math and came up with more than 600 people who stayed at his place. An Italian by origin, Mr. Zanussi lives in Poland and considers oneself a cosmopolitan. He has been a cultural adviser to the Pope for 11 years.
Switch on the First National Channel next Wednesday, November 23, at 19:20 LT to capture a gripping story of Krzysztof Zanussi’s life and career, modern culture and eternal values, and continuity of generations. The film will be repeated on Nov. 24 at 14:05 and Nov. 26 at 15:50.
Dossier: Krzysztof Zanussi is one of the most famous Polish film, television and theater directors. He was born on June 17, 1939 in Warsaw. President and art director of the "TOR" film studio, teacher of the High State School of Cinema, Television and Theater, Professor of the Silez University in Kanovitsy. He cooperates with the British National Film School, makes theatrical productions in Poland, Italy, France, Germany and Russia. Since 1994, he has been a consultant of the Commission of Cultural Matters in Vatican, President of the EUROVISION Association, member of the Polish Pen Club and the Union of Polish Writers. Won awards at numerous international film festivals.
