Two contestants will advance further to be joined by a participant with most interacting voting points. Stage three is where the pro jury steps in and chooses the core contestant for Eurovision’2007. Stage four is about preparing for the contest.
National artist of Belarus, EuroFest director Alexander Tikhanovich told the press that applications had already come from Belarusian and foreign hopefuls. It is not against the rules of the contest to represent another country. There can be no bias toward any artists, Belarusians or coming from outside.
Deputy Director of Main Division of First Channel Alexander Kapenkin said no changes were introduced to the rules; Eurovision’2007 will take place in Helsinki (Finland), semifinals on May 10, final - May 12.
The jury of the national television musical project “EuroFest” will, among others, include Professor Mikhail Finberg (Head of the Jury), Deputy Minister of Culture Vladimir Rylatko, national artist of Belarus Vasily Rainchik, Alexander Tikhanovich, Denis Shpitalnikov, Anatoly Yarmolenko and some others.
The EuroFest is organized by the National State TV and Radio Company of Belarus in association with the Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Information of Belarus.
Regular diaries on First Channel will tell Belarusian viewers about auditions, selection rounds and preparation of participants for EuroFest.
