Constandinos Christoforou represented Cyprus at “Eurovision” back in 1996 and was 9th with 72 points; in 2002 as a member of “One” band he was 6th with 85 points.
During the meeting with mass media representatives, organized by Belteleradiocompany, the singer reminded that Cyprus has been participating in “Eurovision” since 1991 and never left top ten. “We have a dream to enter the top three and this year I will try to reach this goal. I have some experience of performing at “Eurovision” and know well what to do in order to win,” said the singer.
Concerning the contest song, Constandinos Christoforou noted that it is a rhythmic dance composition with ethnic elements in lyrics and music. It was written last December as well as 3 other songs especially for the national qualifying of “Eurovision-2005”. “Ela Ela” means “Come Baby” in Greek, said the singer. - My song calls to all people who love to give themselves away to the beautiful feeling”.
During staying in Minsk Constandinos Christoforou took part in a number of TV and radio shows and gave several interviews. He was really impressed by the main avenue of the city and Victory Plaza.
Cyprian singer already visited Israel, Lithuania, Latvia, Malta, Serbia & Montenegro. He will also visit Great Britain, Slovenia, Romania, Croatia and Russia. Constandinos Christoforou marked hospitality of Belarusians and noted that was going to visit Belarus again before leaving to Kiev.
