Among its participants are countries which ranked in the second decade of the last year’s Eurovision final (Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Iceland, Ireland, Macedonia, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland and Romania), the countries which ranked below 10 in the semi-final (Andorra, Belarus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Israel, Latvia, Lithuania, Monaco, Portugal, Slovenia, Switzerland) and new participants of the contest (Bulgaria, Hungary and Moldova). 10 best participants of semi-final will take part in the principal contest.
24 countries will take part in the Eurovision’s final on May 21. Among them are 10 best performers of the qualification round, 10 best countries of Eurovision-2004 (Albany, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Cyprus, Malta, Russia, Serbia and Montenegro, Sweden, Turkey and Ukraine) and nations of “Big 4” (UK, Germany, France and Spain), principal financial supporters of the contest.
Angelica Agurbash will be among 25 performers of Eurovision-2005 semi-final and will appear on the stage of Kiev’s Palace of Sports under #8. After the performance, telephone numbers will appear on the screen, which can be dialed within 10 minutes to vote for one of the performers. The cost of the call is 1000 rubles. According to the rules of the contest the Belarusian viewers can vote for any participant but their own.
The technical possibility for telephone vote at the international song contest Eurovision-2005 will be provided Beltelecom.
The telephone votes will be added to SMS-choice, accepted by MTS company.
In order to compensate for the possible breaks in the telephone vote a reserve jury in each country will be also voting for the participants. The jury shall be comprised of 8 persons: 4 men and women, 4 music professionals and 4 non-professionals, 4 persons, aged over 30 and 4 under 30. In compliance with the EBU rules, the Belarusian members of the jury shall be appointed by Belteleradiocompany. The jury can not vote for their candidate or abstain from vote.
After 10 minutes of the official vote the ciphered data of the phone and SMS votes will be transmitted to the information center of German company Digame, authorized by the organizers to count the vote.
The broadcast of semi-final Eurovision-2005 will begin on the First National TV Channel at 22:00 LT May 19.
