The winner was selected after summing up the jury's score with the results of telephone vote, which took place right after the broadcast of the final national contestby the First National Channel on the night of September 21.
The final concert featured 9 contestants from different towns of Belarus, aged 8-15. According to the rules of the contests, only songs in Belarusian or Russian languages that haven't been rotated or launched into commercial production are accepted for the performance. The run time of the song should be within the limits of 2.30 - 2.45 minutes. The author of the song should take part in the stage performance as a vocalist or instrumentalist. The song should be performed live and accompanied by music, recorded without any kind of vocal or voice imitations. No more than 8 young performers can represent one song. These rules were adopted in compliance with international requirements.
Egor Volchek was born on August 4, 1992 in Mozyr, Gomel region. In nursery school his music talent wasn't unmissed and he was invited to Svetlana Statsenko's studio. Young performer says that he can't do without singing and music and dreams of becoming a professional singer. Egor already took part in international festivals "Land under White Stock Wings", "Spring Falling Stars (Poland), and Constellation of Hopes. Egor says his vocal teacher Svetlana Statsenko is the main inspiration for him.
Talking about positive sides of his character Egor says he is loyal and decent. His favorite subjects at school are mathematics, Russian and Belarusian and favorite ways of spending leisure time are playing clarinet, soccer and roll skating. The most unusual present he has ever received was a box of Pepsi. He likes listening to O’ZONE and Belarusian band "Pesnyary". "My song for Eurovison is about music that makes all the people come together. I had an idea of creating it after I had learned about the Eurovision's contest. I have always dreamt to take part in it".
We are going to learn in November, whether Egor is as successful at the Children's Eurovision as Olga Satsuk was last year. For the time being let's wish him success!
