18 countries are on the participation list this year: Belarus, Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, France, Macedonia, Greece, Latvia, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Rumania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Great Britain. Belarus has number 10.
The final concert will be held in Lillehammer’s Hakons Hall with 6,000-7,000 spectators in attendance.
Junior contest rules are basically similar to those of the adult contest. The age limit is 15. Some controversy was caused by a decision to apply such limitation on lyricists.
The hosts of the show will be famous TV people in Norway Nadia Hasnaoui and Stian Barsnes Simonsen. It was this twosome who hosted the national selection round in Norway.
The motto of the current contest is ‘Friendship and Joy’. The scenery will be set up so as to recreate the atmosphere of a northern winter night with new and bright stars lighting up.
Votes will be tallied by the exclusive provider from Germany Digame.de.
The Belarusian delegation comprising Egor Volchek, lyricist Vladislava Suslenko, five young ballerinas, Egor’s mother, art director, choreographer, stylist, phoniatrist and representatives of Belteleradiocompany.
Upon arrival to Lillehammer, young performers will meet with Norwegian schoolchildren. Children from different countries will be able to exchange souvenirs and make friends.
Belarusian viewers are disallowed to vote for their national participant. Therefore, let’s just wish our Egor success and root for him the best way we can in front of TV sets on November 20 starting 09:15 PM together with the First National Channel.
