Belteleradiocompany announces launch of national selection for Eurovision-2019

Belarus' main media holding begins accepting applications for national qualifying round of the Eurovision 2019 Song Contest. 

The regulation on the project is posted on the official website of the organizer www.tvr.by. The selection is carried out in accordance with the regulations developed by the organizer and the competition rules established by the European Broadcasting Union (EMU). The project is conducted by the National State TV and Radio Company of the Republic of Belarus (organizer) and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus (co-organizer).

The application for participation in the project is submitted in electronic form on the website of the organizer www.tvr.by. The deadline for applications is January 31, 2019.

The project is carried out in three stages: selection round (consideration of applications and auditions); the final; ensuring the participation of the official representative of the Republic of Belarus in the International Song Contest "Eurovision-2019".

The results of the qualifying round are summarized by the focus group members on February 4, 2019. According to the results of the qualifying round, focus group members will determine by simple majority of votes 10 participants of the final. The number of participants selected for the final may be changed by the decision of the organizer at the suggestion of the focus group. During the audition, an online broadcast will be provided on the official website of the organizer www.tvr.by.

The final will be held not later than March 8, 2019 in the form of a show. The winner of the final will be determined by summing up the points awarded by the members of the professional jury to each participant. The professional jury vote will be held in public. The finalist who has scored the most points according to the results of a professional jury vote will be declared the winner of the national qualifying round and becomes the official representative of Belarus for participation in an international competition.

The Eurovision Song Contest 2019 will be held in Tel Aviv (Israel) in May. The semi-finals will be held on May 14 and 16, the final - on May 18.

The television channels of Belteleradiocompany Belarus 1 and the international satellite TV channel Belarus 24 will traditionally broadcast live the two semi-finals and the final of Eurovision 2019.
