Press release
The package includes artist biographies, lyrics of “My Galileo” in English and French, photo session materials to be disseminated in all participating countries as booklets, posters, billboards, calendars, flyers and incorporated into the official Eurovision-2004 catalogue. The delegation will also deliver a copy of “My Galileo” on a DAT tape, a phonogramm of stage performance, song arrangements, standing arrangement of soloists, back-up singers and musicians on the stage during the performance and a technical videotape of the performance (taken by one camera in a fixed position) for TV directors of the contest.
Besides, the delegation will bring a fresh single of "Alexandra & Konstantin" with “My Galileo” and a remix. Copies of this disc will be given to the heads of the delegations of the European broadcasters.
The final vocal-free version of the phonogram will be delivered somewhat later. According to Alexander Kapenkin, the Belarusian delegation will also present the planners of the contest with a list of requirements specifying a number of issues related to scenery and instruments during our number. “Already now we are to make a request for the props we want to have installed on stage during the performance”, he said. Once the organizers receive all necessary materials from a party country, they will conspire with European experts for a month to develop the best way of covering our number. In May, upon the arrival of our delegation en masse to the contest, several rehearsals will be arranged for the artists to choose the sound and light of their preference. Some alterations can be made before the final version of performance is decided upon.
The inception session in Istanbul will also have a draw to determine the order in which contestants will appear on the stage. The question of how many participants of the semifinals will advance to the finals will also be solved. Originally, out of 22 semifinalists, 10 countries were to make it further. The plan was to keep the information about which 10 countries won in the semifinals a secret until the finals broadcast. However, some countries started sending their requests to keep the suspense somewhat down and announce the results right after the semifinals.
Alexander Kapenkin continued saying that the Belarusian delegation is also planning to come to terms with representatives of some other countries about visiting of their broadcasting facilities by our duo as part of the promotional tour scheduled for April. The company has already agreed with Lithuania, Latvia, Ukraine and Poland for a slot on their channels.
The Deputy General Producer of the First National TV Channel also mentioned that since the latest press conference on the duo preparations for the contest, the number of broadcasters’ requests from all over Europe asking for a quality product for rotation has tripled. Next week these materials will be sent to them in keeping with the schedule of preparations for Eurovision-2004 of Belteleradiocompany.
In the meantime, our duo is capturing a lot of public imagination in Europe. Belteleradiocompany continues to keep in touch with "Alexandra & Konstantin" fan clubs in Ukraine, Latvia, Poland, Italy, Greece and establish new ones. All admirers of the Belarusian artists promise to come to Turkey and root for our duo, Alexander Kapenkin said.
