Portugal, Malta and Russia gave Belarus maximum scoring of 12 points. 10 points were awarded to Andrei by Romania, Ukraine and Sweden, 8 points - by Spain, Greece and Croatia, 6 points - by Cyprus, Serbia and Belgium, 5 points - by Macedonia, 4 points - by the Netherlands.
The winner of the contest is Russia with sister twins Masha and Nastya Tolmachevy (154 points) singing the Spring Jazz. Molly from Sweden (116) finished the third. Other contestants scored the following points: Spain (90), Serbia (81), Romania (80), Belgium (71), Cyprus (58), Ukraine (58), Croatia (50), Malta (48), Netherlands (44), Greece (35), Portugal (22), Macedonia (14). Belarusian voters provided the highest vote (12 points) to Russia.
This year 15 countries took part in the competition. According to the Junior Eurovision rules, contestants cannot be older than 15. A song has to be sung in the national language.
A televised version of the contest was captured by 25 million people worldwide. 4,000 spectators watched the live show at the Sala Polivalenta. Ksenia Sitnik took part in the show as a special guest. She sang her hit “We are Together” and awarded the cup upon the Tolmachevy sisters.
For Belarusian TV viewers the live broadcast from Bucharest was arranged by Belteleradiocompany on the First Channel and Belarus’TV. Denis Kurian from ATN was the presenter.
The next Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be held on December 8, 2007 in Rotterdam (Netherlands).
