Press release
First National TV Channel host and contest commentator for the Belarusian audience Ales Kruglyakov told us on the phone that during the post-rehearsal press conference Alexandra and Konstantin said they are not planning on going solo. “We will continue to be a duo!”, they replied to one of the questions.
One of the reporters at the press conference asked the Belarusian duo to perform a couple of songs acoustically using a guitar and other instruments they had with them. Alexandra and Konstantin quickly turned the place on and promised reporters to use their help the next time they will be singing their songs like that.
Then reporters were handed out the duo’s promo package: CDs, booklets, photos, calendars (and even Belarusian small flags that happened to sit on the desk during the press conference).
Alexandra and Konstantin also told the press they visited the Istanbul market the other night where Konstantin bought a very beautiful hand-made ring and gave it to Alexandra. This is where the press wowed considering it to be the engagement ring and started asking questions about wedding plans of Alexandra and Konstantin.
On Friday, our duo gave a few interviews to German, Turkish and Greek journalists and was even asked to record their contest song “My Galileo” using African dialects.
According to Ales Kruglyakov, every day other contest participants make presentations in Istanbul and our delegation is also invited. On May 9th, Sunday, the Belarusian delegation is invited to an all-participant welcome ceremony at the Turkish Ministry of Culture.
We remind you once again that on Wednesday, May 12th, our duo will perform second at the Eurovision-2004 Singing Contest at 09:45 PM Belarusian time.
