The academic choir of Belteleradiocompany was formed in 1931. From 1965 to 2007, People's Artist of the USSR and the BSSR Professor Viktor Rovdo headed the choir. During this period, a significant number of audio recordings of music from different eras, styles and genres were made. Concerts, tours, participation in national and international music festivals and competitions are an integral part of the life of the team.

In 1990, the choir was awarded the title Academic for its high performing skills.

Under the guidance of Viktor Rovdo the choir performed in Russia, Poland, Germany, Slovenia, Italy, the Vatican. In 2001, the choir was awarded the title Honored Collective of the Republic of Belarus for great achievements in the development of music art.

In recent years, the choir has participated in various international festivals in the Republic of Poland, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Turkey, the Republic of Lithuania.

The team performs at state and local events and concerts. It took part in Ennio Morricone concert at the Minsk Arena, in the concerts of Honored Art Worker, State Prize laureate of the Russian Federation Eduard Artemiev Music of Generations with the Presidential Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus, in the Hans Zimmer concert tour in the cities of Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

The academic choir continues cooperation with Belarusian composers: it conducts creative evenings, performs audio recordings for the Belarusian Radio Foundation, and performs solo concerts. The choir has a wide repertoire list, including thematic concert programs Let’s Sing, Friends, Christmas Concert, Popular Melodies, Venus The Star.

Currently, the choir is directed by graduate of the Belarusian choral conducting school, young talented composer, arranger and conductor Andrei Savritsky.
