CFI was created in 1989 as a non-producing organization providing French films and video programs to broadcasters from all over the world. Currently, the CEE Bureau of CFI cooperates with more than 30 broadcasters.
In 2004, BTRC became the CFI key partner practically in all areas. Over that year, about 700 hours of original French television product (cartoons, educational and entertainment films for children, documentaries, French cinema classics, etc.) was shown making up roughly 57 hours a month on average.
Most of the products are dubbed into Belarusian. Dubbing into a national language is one of the CFI stern requirements. BTRC wholeheartedly supports this approach, because we live in an independent country and should in every possible way support the domestic culture. Provided most of the films and other products are geared toward youth and children, it is very important that they perceive it through the medium of their native language and grow up to be true patriots.
Within BTRC, the Department for Dubbing Licensed Programs is responsible for cooperation with CFI. A large team of department full-time employees, free-lance translators and incredible voice talents make valuable inputs to the prep and dubbing process. These are Distinguished Artists of Belarus Natalia Kochetkova and Georgy Malyavsky, as well as Alexander Kashperov, Svetlana Timokhina, Elena Odintsova; directors - Lidia Shershulskaya, Olga Tatishcheva, Sergey Tyrtyshny, Larisa Poltorzhitskaya, Tatiana Agafonova; editors - Natalia Polstiuk, Vera Ropot, Alexandra Atrashevskaya, Julia Kuchuk, Spartak Siverin, etc. The department is managed by Victor Moroz.
