Parliamentary delegation from Thailand visits Belarus
Parliamentary delegation from Thailand is visiting Belarus. The today's agenda is full of meetings at the highest level in the government and the parliament, and visits to major enterprises. The day before, the guests held talks with the government of Vitebsk Region. As it was stated by the head of the National Legislative Assembly of Thailand, the exchange of visits of parliamentarians will contribute to the development of international cooperation. After the official events the guests from Thailand laid flowers to the Eternal Flame at the Victory Monument in Vitebsk. The day before the city celebrated the 72nd anniversary of liberation from Nazi invaders.
Belarus getting ready to celebrate Independence Day
On Sunday Minsk will celebrate the Liberation Day. On July 3 the city's residents and visitors will be able to enjoy a military parade. The first rehearsal already took place. At noon, the aircraft manned by pilots of the Air Force of Belarus will fly over a lake adjacent to Minsk. The display unit will include not only civilian but also military aircraft and helicopters. The second rehearsal will be held tomorrow at Minsk Hero City monument.
10 medals won by Belarusians at European Canoe and Cayak Championships
5 kilometers race was won by Marina Lytvinchuk. Nadezhda Makarchenko and Alina Nozdreva had no equals in 500m. Gleb Solodukha and Alexander Volchetski won the sprint.
Silver awards went to Women Kayak Four, as well as canoeists Andrei and Alexander Bogdanovichs.
In the medal standings, our team ranked fourth, with Hungary, Russia and Germany ahead of them.
European Championships in Moscow was an important step in preparation for Rio Olympics. The athletes will fight for medals in Brazil starting from August 7.
