In the next five-year term Belarus needs to keep up with the trend of the world economy, science and progress. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko made the statement during the government conference on the program of Belarus’ social and economic development till 2020. The program caused a heated debate, yet the parties came to common priorities. They are reduction of dependence from external factors, export diversification, attraction of foreign investment and creation of jobs. The Head of State underlined, that the program should be based on economic reality and clear not only for experts.
The President demanded that the document responds to the most imoprtant people's questions – the salaries, the prices, housing construction and loans.
Preparation to the of the program for social and economic development of the country is a matter of more than one meeting. The expressed propositions will be put into basis, the plans will be elaborated, and a new discussion will be held in 10 days. The final variant of the program will be considered at the fifth Belarusian People’s Congress.
Joint sitting of the House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic is held today
A joint sitting of the Belarusian House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic is held today at the House of government. First Vice-premier Vasily Matushevsky will make a report. It will be dedicated to the issues of economic development of the country. Then, the governmental officials will answer the questions of the parliamentarians.
Student from Mogilev won the competition “Queen Spring-2016 ”
A Queen of spring was selected in Belarus. It is a second year female student at the Law institute of a Belarus' regional center Mogilev Maria Sidorenko. The total number of finalists was 13. The jury estimated the artistry, stage culture, the communication skills, grace, etiquette and sence of humor. The Winner and the First vice-miss will represent Belarus at the International competition “Queen Spring” in Ufa (Russia) late June.
