Belarusian pilots first in the world to land Su-25 attack plane on road at night
Yak-130 and Su-25 planes made a night landing on the highway for the first time in the world. Such maneuvers were performed by Belarusian aces on the Minsk-Mogilev highway in Cherven district. It is difficult to perform these elements not only because the four-lane road is narrower than an airstrip. It is not equipped with a navigation system, besides the aerodynamic properties of asphalt are markedly different from the concrete pavement at the airport. Such sites are practiced as alternate aerodromes since 2007. All but one of the pilots participated in such training for the first time. Belarusian Defense Minister Andrei Ravkov praised the pilots’ skills. According to him, the flight crews performed the combat training missions confidently, and the aircraft themselves showed high quality.
Hong Kong hosts “One Belt, One Road” forum
The opening ceremony of "One Belt, One Road" forum was held in Hong Kong. Partaking in it was the vice-speaker of the Belarusian parliament Viktor Guminsky. High level of political trust and strengthening of strategic partnership in all areas were mentioned. During the visit, Viktor Guminsky held bilateral meetings with the President of the Legislative Assembly of Hong Kong and the head of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress. The sides expressed confidence in the success of the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park, which should become an important fulcrum of the “One Belt, One Road” project.
Nearly 8 billion Belarusian rubles to be channeled into supporting gifted students in 2016
Nearly 8 billion Belarusian rubles from the special funds of the President will be earmarked this year for supporting gifted students. Such an order was signed by the Head of State. Winners of international competitions, conferences, as well as the nationwide contests of young mathematicians - a total of 100 people will receive cash prizes. The amount of remuneration is up to 11.5 million Belarusian rubles.
