EEC Council approves forecast indicators of EEU macroeconomic policy for 2016-2017
The Eurasian Economic Commission's Council approved the principal targets of macroeconomic policy for EEU countries for the current and next years. It names the most important challenges facing the economy of the member states, and points out ways to address them. Reaching the pre-set targets should help the Union's member countries overcome the economic recession, improve macroeconomic stability and restore economic growth. The document is to be submitted for consideration of presidents of EEU countries during the session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council on May 31.
Young employees and students to demonstrate their skills during WorldSkills Belarus nationwide contest
The best young employees and students will demonstrate their skills during the WorldSkills Belarus professional competition. It starts in Minsk today. Among the three hundred finalists are winners of the regional selection rounds. They will compete in 33 professions. The winners will form the national team, which will represent Belarus at the international WorldSkills Championship in Abu Dhabi. The participants of the contest received greeting from the President. According to Alexander Lukashenko, supporting professional training is one of Belarus government policy priorities.
Belarus to face France at IIHF World Championship
Team Belarus faces a decisive match at the ice hockey worlds. Today, in the final round of the group stage, our team will play against France. The outcome of the game will decide whether Belarusians remain in the elite division. To this end, Belarus needs to score one point, that is not to lose in the regulation.
The day before our group saw Germany defeating Hungary 4 to 2, while Canada shellacked France 4 to 0. So far Canada and Finland have 18 points each, Germany - 13, USA - 9, Slovakia - 6, France - 5, Hungary and Belarus – 3 points.
In group A Russia beat Norway 3: 0, and Denmark defeated Kazakhstan 4: 1.
