Winners of national competition for meeting socio-economic development targets defined in Belarus
The winners of the national competition for meeting socio-economic development targets have been defined in Belarus. The list includes 52 nominees. These are the best companies and organizations in industry, construction, agriculture, forestry, trade, education, health, sports, culture and science. The Minsk region is leading. 18 winners for the best achievements in resource saving have also been named. All the winners will enter the Republican roll of honor. President of Belarus signed the corresponding decree.
Minsk to host session of House of Representatives
The session of the House of Representatives will take place on 16 June. The agenda includes 14 draft laws.
The bills to undergo the second reading include: the Military Doctrine, amendments to the Code of Land and the Code of Mineral Resources, and also a bill on state environmental appraisal, strategic environmental assessment.
The agenda of the meeting will also include the ratification of international documents. Among them is the agreement to coordinate steps in protecting intellectual property rights, agreements between the governments of Belarus and Iraq to promote and mutually protect investments, and others.
National Library of Belarus celebrates its first jubilee
The National Library of Belarus celebrates the 10th anniversary of the new building. The whole country was involved in the construction of the Diamond of knowledge. Today the country's main library is unique in the post-Soviet space in many respects. It is equipped with a fully automated literature delivery system. Therefore, it takes no more to 20 minutes to get a book. In Kiev, for example, it takes 3 hours. The library will mark its anniversary with an interactive quest. The winners will get the symbolic keys to the Diamond of knowledge.
