Belarus imposes restrictions on the import of goods and parcels from abroad

On April 14th Belarus will impose restrictions on the import of goods and parcels from abroad. According to the new rules, duty-free parcels are now those under 22€ and up to 10 kilograms. The limits are also introduced for people, who plan to cross the border more than once a quarter. Goods under 300€ and up to 20 kilograms will be duty-free. For excess one will have to pay customs duty and VAT. Those who travel abroad less than once in three months, will be able to transport goods for personal use worth up to 1,500€ and weighing up to 50 kilograms.

200-meter Victory Banner unfurled in the center of Grodno

200-meter Victory Banner unfurled in the center of Grodno. The city became one of the stops of the international motor rally "The Star of Our Great Victory." The participants’ routes symbolize five points of a star. They have simultaneously started from Brest, Vladivostok, Arkhangelsk, Derbent and Sevastopol. All the routes meet in Moscow. The participants will visit more than 150 cities in Belarus and Russia. The total mileage will be more than 35,000 kilometers. The copy of the Victory Banner was given to residents of Grodno.

The process of beatification of Edward Woyniłłowicz has begun

The process of beatification of Edward Woyniłłowicz was officially launched in Minsk recently. A solemn ceremony was held at the Red Church with the participation of Metropolitan of Minsk and Mogilev Archbishop Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz. The corresponding decree of the Prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints and a short biography of Edward Woyniłłowicz was read to the attending believers. He went down in history as a political and social activist and founder of the Red Church.
