Belarus to take part in IAEA Board of Governors session in Vienna

Belarus is going to take part in the session of the IAEA Board of Governors. The agenda includes preparations for the 60th session of the IAEA General Conference, the review of the annual report on the IAEA operation, matters concerning nuclear safety, the development of nuclear sciences and technologies, technical cooperation, the application of nuclear armaments non-proliferation guarantees. The session is to take place in Vienna on 6-10 June. The Belarusian delegation will be led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Valentin Rybakov. He is expected to meet with top executives of the IAEA Secretariat during the session.The Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) meets five times a year to discuss major reports, the program and the budget of the IAEA, and to give recommendations on important aspects of the agency’s work to the General Conference.

BCCI developing proposals for new regulations on free economic zones in EEU

The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is working out proposals concerning new regulations on the operation of free economic zones in the Eurasian Economic Union.The current regulations governing the operation of free economic zones will expire in 2017. The business community of the EEU member states is concerned about the future of free economic zones. Belarus will consider this issue at the government level in the near future. The BCCI also prepared a number of proposals in order to keep the operation of the Belarusian free economic zones as well as their attractiveness for business on par with other member states of the EEU.

Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus to present premiere of ballet by Polad Bulbuloglu

The Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus prepares a premiere. On the main music stage of the country the ballet "Love and Death" will be presented on 11 and 12 June. Music to the ballet was written by the former Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan and currently Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in Russia, singer, composer, actor, professor and politician Polad Bulbuloglu. The perfomance is based on the "The Book of Dede Korkut" created more than 1,300 years ago, an outstanding monument of medieval heroic epic. The oriental legend "Love and Death" will open the third annual festival "Ballet Summer at the Bolshoi."
