Participants of All-Belarusian People's Congress to continue discussing future of Belarus

Today All-Belarusian People's Congress continues in the Palace of the Republic in Minsk. The participants are to approve the country's draft program of social and economic development till 2020. The day before the document's main provisions were presented by President Alexander Lukashenko. It is assumed that the main development vectors of Belarus over the next 5 years will include investment, exports, ICT, employment and youth policy. More than two dozen government programs are to be carried out. The President also elaborated on the ways to strengthen economy, optimize public service, implement social policy's main goals. Today, the debates will continue. They will be broadcast live by Belarus 1 and Belarus 24 TV channels, as well as the First National Channel of the Belarusian Radio.

Alexander Lukashenko to visit Uzbekistan on June 23-24 to participate in SCO summit

Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko will pay a working visit to Uzbekistan, where he will take part in the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. In addition, the agenda includes bilateral meetings with foreign leaders. The upcoming Tashkent summit of the organization will be the first in which Belarus will take part in the newly obtained status of an observer.

Belarus and Lithuania hold consultations on BelNPP

Belarus and Lithuania completed bilateral consultations on the construction of the Belarusian NPP. The experts focused on technical and scientific aspects of the construction, including the evaluation of the Ostrovets site, as well as seismic safety of the construction zone. Following the meeting, Minsk and Vilnius will prepare a joint report to be considered by the Espoo Convention Implementation Committee in September.
