"Star Dance. Male Season"

The sequel of the "Star Dance" show starts on First Channel in February. It's high time the male season started and it can mean only that everything is getting more serious. The show preparation shifts into high gear now. The music celebrities likewise the stars of sports, TV and theatre are learning dances from the professional dancers. Here is an interview about their achievements. |

Pavel Shestakov teaches his partner to Cha Cha
Anchor of the "Star Dance. Female Season" show Pavel Shestakov will perform in a role of a dancer this time. Pavel is learning under the watchful eye of Mziya Orvelashvili. She is the absolute champion of Georgia in sport dances, runner-up of the Eastern Europe.
"We are learning Cha Cha at the moment and made some great achievements as I already taught Mziya to dance. If I had ever known that dancing requires such an intimate behavior, I would have learnt it long ago", jokes Pavel |

Alexander Dudik experiences "burning" sensation
Editor of Television News Agency Alexander Dudik learns how to dance together with Svetlana Pashkevich who is the finalist of the first season of "Star Dance", master in sport dances, multiple prize-winner and the winner of national and international competitions in sport dances.
Alexander says that their first lessons deserve to be called idyllic. "Now we're learning jaif dance and the sensations I get from it are similar to that of the animal world. You work like a horse, repeat as if you are a monkey, you look like a bear and feel like a cat trapped in a valerian jar. And the most interesting part is that the coaches have already gained your trust and therefore left you with no choice. Now you just have to dance", shares Alexander Dudik. |

Vitaly Karpanov strives for additional rehearsals
Soloist of the "Drozdy" band Vitaly Karpanov rehearses with Olga Fomicheva who is an international-class dancer, many-times winner of the national and international competitions in sport dancing.
"We're learning quick step dance and I'm starting to be good at it. Me and Olga speak the same language, we call one another to schedule additional rehearsals. By the way, the coaches say I was born to dance", says Karpanov. |

Dmitry Karyakin is not afraid of challenge
Dmitry Karyakin is a singer and the lyrics author of the "Lightsound" band. He dances in a couple with Anna Skalaban, sub-master sportswoman in sport dancing, multiple prize-winner and winner of the national and international competitions in sport dancing.
"It was way too complicated at first. Too many new moves. It was hard to memorize them all. However, before the auditions I've been training with the dance teacher for a while. Now we're practicing every day, which is a little exhausting. We're working on the slow waltz. Lots of work waits ahead but I'm not afraid of difficulties. Waltz wise, I was trying to prepare for the auditions beforehand. I am on good terms with Anna. We've been learning the spinning move, it was fun. But I am worried about loads of work. But I am definitely not threatened", tells Dmitry. |

Sasha Nemo discovers dancing talent
Sasha Nemo, a soloist of the National Concert Orchestra of Belarus, will be dancing with Elena Zhukova, master of sports in dancing, professional sport dancing coach, many-time winner of domestic and international competitions in sport dancing.
- I didn't think I could manage it, Sasha shares his impressions, - Dancing always seemed so difficult to me, but it turned out easy and cool due to my partner Elena Zhukova. She is a good coach and can explain and show everything very clearly. We've already studied the most complicated elements of rumba, all we have to do now is to make it to perfection. |

Pavel Nemerzhitsky hopes to discover talent
Pavel Nemerzhitsky, an absolute virtuoso with the accordion, is a soloist of the National Zhinovich Academic Folk Orchestra of Belarus. He will be dancing with Elena Popova, a master of sports in dancing, prize winner at domestic and international competitions in sport dancing. We haven't started the training yet, but I'm thrilled in expectation, - says Pavel, - But I think I'll be able to do it. At least I was good in dancing, when I was in kindergarten…I'm trying to prepare myself morally. |

Alex is full of pugnacious spirit
Composer and singer, Alex is learning to dance together with Irina Kuznetsova, participant of the first season of "Star Dancing", world-class dancer, many-time winner of the national and international competitions in sport dancing.
- I used to be dancing hip-hop…and now I'm learning to dance the Viennese waltz. Everything is the opposite to what I am get used to! The legs are straight, the back is straight… I can't form a habit to it! But when you got struck on your back 25 times, you learn to hold it straight, - jokes Alex. - And the stance! I can't do this nasty stance! The principal merit of my partner Irina is big patience. We are in pugnacious spirit and I've got enough patience, persistence and ambition. We have got something to show in the first program. |

Vadim Mezga compares dancing with box
Vadim Mezga, USSR's master of sports in box, master of sports of the Republic of Belarus, owner of the first Olympic license for Belarus in box (1996). He will be dancing with Elena Volokhova, professional coach in sport dancing, many-time winner of national and international competitions in sport dancing.
- My body is hot and I’m trying to get everything in the world out of my mind in order to absorb the movements, - says Vadim. - Actually I have some experience. I used to do lot of dance-like movements on the ring. In the process of learning the "pas" I realized that in order to become a professional dancer you should train as much as you train in wrestling and boxing. |

Andrei Bibikov feels like Latino
Andrey Bibikov, an actor of the Belarusian Drama Theater, will be dancing with Darya Zubova, many-time champion of Belarus in sport dancing.
- We are learning the foxtrot. It is difficult. I have never tried such a complicated dance. I more feel like Latino, but I' gonna cope with it more over that I see no slack from Dasha. Yet, I thought there would be more exercise load.

Otieno Benard is in anticipation
Otieno Benard, an actor of the Belarusian Circus, will be learning the dance with Maria Kubrakova "Miss Minsk 2009", many-time winner of national and international competitions in sport dancing.
- I've got a lot of new feelings as an acrobat and fakir, says Bernard. At the moment I' m studying some basic movements. Maria is returning to Minsk next week and we are going to bone right down to the show.

P.S.: Interestingly enough, none of the male participants of the show complained of heavy physical load.
