Belarusians lay captain of national hockey team Ruslan Salei to rest.
Memorial service was held in Gorky Park. Around 10 thousand people met at the arena of the HC "Yunost-Misnk" to pay tribute to Ruslan Salei. The line of people stretched from Independence Avenue. People were carrying flowers and wreaths. Wreaths were laid to the coffin on behalf of Alexander Lukashenko, Continental Hockey League, National Olympic Committee, the Ministry of Sports and Tourism and other agencies, friends and family and ordinary people. Minsk hockey teams, veterans of the Belarusian ice hockey, civil officers, colleagues from other countries and, of course, devoted fans paid last respects to the great athlete.

Ruslan Salei was buried at the Moscow Cemetery in Minsk today. He was laid to rest next to the tomb of Vladimir Muliavin. The cortege was accompanied by an honor guard. Six buses packed with people who wished to pay last farewells to the hockey player followed. The national anthem was performed to farewell volleys.
