Soyuz spacecraft successfully docks to International Space Station

The Soyuz spacecraft commanded by Belarusian Oleg Novitsky has successfully docked to the International Space Station in automatic mode. The 50th expedition is also featuring European Space Agency astronaut Thomas Pesquet of France and NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson. During the six-month mission, the crew is planned to carry out over 40 scientific experiments.

Oleg Novitsky, who is flying into space for the second time, has delivered Belarus’ state flag to the International Space Station as a sign of respect to his homeland.
