By Pavel Kaputsky: The Belarusian junior athletics team arrived fr om Italy, wh ere the European Championship was held, a few hours ago. Our team has taken seven medals. This is an excellent performance, but the competitions in Grossetto will be more memorable for the Belarusian fans by the act of young Violetta Skvortsova. The girl left the pedestal when she heard that instead of the Belarusian one, another national anthem plays.

The video with the anthem has already gained more than two million views. Many people wanted to see new heroine Violetta Skvortsova, but they had to wait. The flight from Rome was almost forty minutes late.

Violetta studied at a music school, sang the Belarusian anthem in the choir, so she noted the error on the first seconds of the melody. The girl left the pedestal, although she risked getting a disqualification. She informed organizers about the error. It was the hymn of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The next day Skvortsova was awarded again and she, as she dreamed, sang her own anthem.

Another hero of the European Championship was Maxim Nedosekov. In high jump he broke the record of Belarus and showed the best result of the season among juniors.

Vadim Devyatovsky admires the result of juniors (two gold and five silver medals) and already plans goals for athletes for the Olympics in Tokyo.

On August 4, the World Athletics Championships among adults will start in London. Our juniors will not go there. Their main victories will come in a few years.
