28 апреля 2015

By Sergei Gusachenko: The leitmotif of the meeting: the city should develop dynamically. According to the President, it is necessary to make order in the city, especially on the eve of celebration of the 70th anniversary of Victory. Minsk is a visiting card of the country. It must be landscaped and problematic issues with the construction of facilities should be resolved.

Today Minsk has more than five thousand industrial enterprises. They employ almost 145 thousand people. The capital, in fact, is the core production site of the whole country. The city generates a quarter of Belarusian GDP. Tax deductions were more than 73-trillion rubles last year alone.

A comprehensive discussion of the development of the capital with the head of state started with the industry. Mayor, Deputy Prime Minister and the Chief Inspector of Minsk came to the office of the President.

Increased exports and improving product quality. One of the key requirements for businesses were voiced by the President several times. Minsk has a lot of the flagships of the Belarusian industry. MTZ, MAZ, Minsk Motor Works.

Natalia Kochanova, Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus: "One of the major issues that had been discussed at the meeting today is the work of industrial enterprises of Minsk such as MAZ, MTZ, Motor plant. The task was to improve the work of these companies in the near future. I plan to visit these companies, in order to see objectively the situation."

Alexander Yakobson, Assistant to the President, Chief Inspector of Minsk: "Responsibility and commitment of personnel at all levels of leadership should be enhanced. The head of the state knows and sees the potential of Minsk and objectively requires a more productive work at all levels."

Cooperation with private capital is not always successful. Investors do not fulfill the duties.

Like any large city, Minsk should develop comprehensively. Along with residential facilities there should be kindergartens, schools, objects of trade and consumer services, and sports.

Over the last 5 years the country put into operation about 80 sports facilities. Chizhovka Arena, a multifunctional complex, is able to receive not only hockey matches.

Gymnasts also need a larger area, believes coach Irina Leparskaya. Gymnastics Grand Palace will be built near Minsk-Arena at Pobeditelei Avenue.

However, restoring order is daily work. This is another challenge for the city authorities.

At the same time Minsk led the top 10 most popular cities in the Commonwealth. However, only if the current problems in the development of the city are result, this leadership will be kept.
