Belarus’ President to leave for two-day official visit to Ukraine today

About 300 Ukrainian and 100 Belarusian companies will take part in a joint business forum scheduled to launch today in Kiev. This is a good opportunity for business circles to establish new contacts. A set of contracts worth about 50 million dollars is planned to be signed, mechanical engineering, the agroindustrial complex, the petrochemical industry, energy and construction being the spheres of interest.

Belarus’ President Alexander Lukashenko is due to leave for a two-day official visit to Ukraine today to hold talks with his Ukrainian counterpart Petro Poroshenko on political, trade, economic and humanitarian cooperation. The politicians are also planned to coordinate approaches to cross-border cooperation development. One of the meeting topics will be settling the conflict in eastern Ukraine - Minsk is taking an active part in the process, providing a negotiation venue.
