Belarusian leader on atrip to Vitebsk Region

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko urged to clearly define major agricultural product specialisations in each district of the Vitebsk region during yesterday’s working visit to the country’s northern region. On his way, the President inspected the region and the Braslav district in particular from a helicopter. Upon arrival at the Mayak-Braslav agricultural company, Alexander Lukashenko admitted that he was not impressed by what he had seen. The Vitebsk region has to be put in order to get the maximum effective results from agricultural production. The President required everything to be worked out and taken into account to achieve good results.

President visited the Braslav branch of the Glubokoye Dairy-Canning Factory, familiarizing himself in detail with hard cheese production technology and attending the enterprise’s product exhibition. Visiting the Posnudye farm near Braslav, the President stressed that he considered it possible to discuss loosening up the legislation for agro and eco tourism development. The politician also answered questions from journalists, in particular about the incident at the Belarusian NPP.

Another conversation topic was the harvesting campaign and plans for the harvest. The President was also asked about the upcoming parliamentary elections. Answering the question, Alexander Lukashenko pointed out that the election campaign in Belarus was running smoothly.
