Belarus will be able to overcome the emerging difficulties, and this year will be the turning point, said Alexander Lukashenko today while visiting the Church of Transfiguration Barani on Easter holiday.

By tradition, the head of state celebrates Easter in small churches. The day before the President visited the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in the town of Barani near Orsha. Together with his son Nikolai the leader was present at the Easter service and put a candle at the icon.

President and Archbishop Dimitri of Vitebsk and Orsha exchanged gifts. Alexander Lukashenko donated the icon "Jesus Christ the Infant" as a gift to the church. It is painted in the style of Vetka School of Iconography and is made in the wax technique. Archbishop presented the icon of Alexander Nevsky to the President, Then the Head of State congratulated the parishioners on the holiday and promised that the region would receive additional economic development.
