The participants of the today's meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group expressed their commitment to preserve the so-called "bread truce." The diplomats noted a significant reduction in number of cases of use of firearms on the contact line.

Martin Sajdik, Special Representative of the OSCE in the Trilateral Contact Group: "This truce continues to be the main expectation of the civilian population in the conflict zone. In this context, the parties reaffirm their commitment to the continuation of the "bread truce" necessary for life support, including the period of field work. I hope that the leaders of the countries of the Norman format will find the opportunity to support the decision."

The so-called "bread truce" came into force in late June and will be valid until the end of August.

At the final press conference of the OSCE, the Special Representative made a statement about the importance of Minsk format.

Martin Sajdik, Special Representative of the OSCE in the Trilateral Contact Group: "I think it's important to show the participants of the Parliamentary Assembly that we are continuing to seek a solution to the problems in the east of Ukraine."

In addition to the exchange of prisoners, Minsk Agreement provides for ceasefire and withdrawal of heavy weapons from the line of contact. The next meeting of the Contact Group will be held in Minsk in two weeks.
