The parliamentary campaign in Belarus has completed. The final results were summarized at today's meeting of the CEC. The new composition of the parliament of the 6th convocation has been determined. The CEC voted for the registration of the elected deputies and senators.

At the meeting, Lidia Yermoshina announced the trends of the electoral campaign in figures. Thus, 5,215,359 people came to the elections. Of these, about 4 thousand voters have not casted their votes in ballot boxes. 491,956 Belarusians - almost 10% - chose the column "against all". More than 65,500 ballots were spoiled.

From September, 6 to 15, the CEC received 479 appeals, which is two hundred less than during the 2012 parliamentary campaign. Many of them are not connected with the elections, but rather required clarification of the electoral legislation.

The turnout at the parliamentary elections amounted to almost 75%. The electoral race was one of the brightest and most open in our history. International observers assessed the high level of organization of the campaign. The elections were observed by not only Europeans, but also the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the CIS mission.

28 parliamentarians claimed a second term and won. Further 82 newly elected deputies will take their seats in the Oval Hall on October 11.

The new composition of the Upper House of the Parliament includes 56 senators: 8 people from each region and the capital. Eight more people will be appointed by the President.
