Belarus makes another step in development of dialogue with European Union

Belarus will build participation in the "Eastern Partnership" on a pragmatic basis. This was stated by Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei. The fifth round of informal ministerial dialogue of the participating countries "Eastern Partnership" took place in Minsk under the chairmanship of Belarus. The capital gathered the Foreign Ministers of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine and two European Commissioners. The main topic of the informal meeting of the Foreign Ministers was the discussion of the results of the Riga summit and the future of the Eastern Partnership.

The participants exchanged their views on the main themes of the international agenda to date.

According to Vladimir Makei, the Eastern Partnership initiative should have more flexible approach to each participating country. The dialogue on common economic space between the EU and the EAEU is our initiative too. Minsk could become the platform for it. Autumn presidential elections in Belarus have become the subject of ministerial dialogues too. The final date of the election will be announced by the parliament tomorrow.

Ministry of Natural Resources considers Belarus-EU dialogue on environmental issues as an important and constructive platform for solution of environmental problems, obtaining expert and international technical assistance.

Talks have been held between foreign ministers of Belarus and Georgia and first deputy foreign ministers of Belarus and Ukraine. They discussed issues of bilateral relations.
