25 ноября 2015

Environmental issues, such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions and preventing global warming, were discussed in Minsk yesterday. According to Belarus’ First Deputy Minister of Natural Resources Iya Malkina, the goal of environmentalists around the world today is to prevent increase in global average temperatures. She also emphasised that air pollution is planned to be reduced by 30% by 2030, compared with 1990. By the way, Belarus is among the top 50 countries with the highest environmental performance.

Among other discussed issues was the upcoming international climate summit in Paris, scheduled to start on Monday, 30 November. Specialists are prepared to adopt an agreement spelling out approaches to reducing gas emissions into the atmosphere worldwide. One of the document’s provisions will be financial support for environment in developing countries.
