Representatives of Constitutional Courts of Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Georgia gather in Minsk

Representatives of the Constitutional Courts of Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Georgia have gathered in Minsk for another conference. The project is being carried out in order to implement the interaction of the European Union and the Council of Europe with the Eastern Partnership countries. Among other things, the participants discussed ensuring the rule of law. In this sphere, Belarus is consistently implementing European approaches.

Herdis Kjerulf Thorgeirsdottir, the Vice-President of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe, has noted that such issues as the rule of law and cooperation in constitutional control will be discussed, as well as cooperation between Europe and the Belarusian constitutional court.

The participants of the conference also emphasised that ensuring the rule of law is a guarantee for promoting democracy and upholding human rights and freedoms.
