Due to a system developed by Grodno’s Yanka Kupala State University physicists, determining microelements in the human body via a hair takes just half an hour. The technology has already been tested in practice. The received data can be used in drawing up nutrition and exercise plans.

According to Slavomir Anufrik, the scientific director of the Grodno Yanka Kupala State University laboratory, the technology can also be used to analyse food products and soil. The scientists carry out environmental monitoring with a number of companies and have already analysed the authenticity of some paintings, including Kazimir Malevich’s work. Besides, the X-ray fluorescence method has found practical application in construction, agriculture and the production sector.
